Our
concept Movado Marine
Multiproperty is
derived from the simple
fact that yacht owners
enjoy their yachts a few
weeks per year and that
the rest of the time the
yacht is just...not used
by anybody, which is a
real waste of value to
the sailing community
(the owners on one side
and the sailors wishing
to enjoy ownership on
the other side!).
As for new yachts, the
value of this MMM concept
is particularly high for
existing yachts based
in a given harbour.
What we propose:
to sell 25%, 33% or 50%
of your boat to a motivated
selected co-owner who
will acquire a true fraction
of the ownership of the
boat, either
o directly on the Acte
de Francisation of your
boat which would be amended
to show the split of ownership:
this is the basic offering,
or
o through a Civil Company
(Société
Civile in French) that
will own the boat and
of which you will become
share holder (your remaining
ownership share %): this
optional solution is better
in terms of mutual protection
of the co-owners (the
potential debts of the
other co-owner will not
impact the shared ownership!)
;
then to manage the boat
and the co-owners syndicate
as a fractional ownership
"syndic" against
a yearly management fee.
The services provided
are described within the
MMM
concept page.
this global management
is not compulsory but
recommended in order to
strengthen the trust of
the other co-owner in
that sharing solution.
How we would proceed up
to the effective sale
of a share of your yacht:
you give us all necessary
information and significant
pictures of the boat,
as well as your estimate
of the current value of
the boat with all her
accessories and equipment
(we may comment that estimate
based on our knowledge
of the second hand yacht
market);
you decide which share
you would like to sell:
25%, 33% or 50%, the remaining
one would give the usage
time you want to keep
(35, 31 or 23 weeks per
year);
we build specific pages
on our web site as well
as other web sites we
work with, to market the
share that will include
a 10% gross margin for
Movado Marine to cover
all costs until the effective
sale;
as soon as we have an
interested prospect, we
arrange a telephone conference
with you, and if you wish
to pursue with that potential
co-owner, we organize
then a physical visit
of the boat, with or without
you.
should every thing be
Ok, we have the MoU signed
in order to transform
your ownership into a
co-ownership, with or
without a “Société
Civile” in between.
Should you require some
more details or information
on the process we could
give them over the phone
on your request.
